Games in parties are usually free. You don’t have to spend some money for this kind of entertainment. That is because games don’t have to be expensive or fancy, they are merely for fun and amusement.

Barn Buddies

You whisper a name of one farm animal to each child. Make sure you also tell the same animal once to another child. Let each child know that there is another person that is similar to the farm animal given to him or her to act like. Throughout this party the children should ask to one another yes and no questions. They should eventually figure out who is the same animal as him or her.

After the party, let everyone sit down beside who they think is their “Barn Buddy”. If they got the wrong “Barn Buddy” review the clues with the children. As soon as everyone figures out the right buddy, let them sit again beside their “Farm Buddies”.

Fruit Basket

Form a circle with chairs. The chairs should be one less than the number of players. The person standing says,”I’m grateful for… (a characteristic, outfit or state of a person)” and every child with that characteristic stands up and scurries for another chair to sit on. While the children are searching for another chair, someone takes one chair away.

One child will have no chair to sit on and will have to be out of the game. The last person to be able to sit down will again say,” I’m gratefull for…” And this will be repeated until you wish to end the game.

Tug Of Water

This game can only be done if you have a sprinkler. Set on the srinkler in your yard or lawn. Divide the children into two groups. Each group should hold on an end of a garden hose. As soon as a non-player says, “Go!” each group starts to pull on the rope with the objective of leading or pulling the opposing team into the srinkler. Of course, the team that gets wet loses and the team that stays dry wins.

Freeze!

When the music starts playing the children starts dancing and moving to the beat. They dance until the music is stopped then they should freeze even though they are in a difficult position. Whoever is caught moving is out of the game.

One of the most intimidating aspects of starting any new business is developing a business plan.

A business plan is necessary for many reasons including management and finding the funding you need to get your venture off the ground.

There are many different free sample business plan templates online. It’s important to search for one that is reflective of the business you are starting. Obviously if you are launching a new craft business, a business plan template for a daycare business just wouldn’t work. You need a template that will work for you particular business focus.

If you are using a computer that runs on the Microsoft interface you’ll want a business plan template download that works in either MS Word or Excel. Excel can be somewhat tricky for someone unfamiliar with the program. However, it’s often the suggested program for spreadsheets so it’s very likely that you’ll have to adopt it at some point.

Once you’ve downloaded the template you’ll need to take a few moments to acquaint yourself with it. Although every program is different, you would do well to have all the business’s information close at hand so you aren’t wasting time searching for the relevant facts and figures.

There are several different parts to a standard plan that you’ll need to prepare. All of this can be done with the aid of a sample template. The parts are typically a strategy and marketing plan, profit and loss account, a balance sheet, a cash flow statement, cash balance graph, and operating ratios. An executive summary is probably the most important part. This may seem impossible to someone who has never prepared a business plan in the past, but the software walks you through each and every document.

Most programs will allow you to make adjustments as necessary. It’s a very good idea to start using the template soon after you decide to start the business as it allows you the chance to not only have ample time to prepare it, but also to get a feel for the program itself. Obviously as your business ideas change, that it will be reflected in the program.

Once you have completed the business plan it’s now ready to present to potential investors. It’s a good idea to have a trusted friend or relative who is savvy in business have a look over it first. This way they’ll be able to point out any inconsistencies or problems they see. Remember that any business plan can be adjusted and should be adjusted as the business grows and changes.

• Start Out on the Right Foot: Before your first practice, plan a meeting for cheerleaders and their guardians. During this meeting hand out a typed list of rules and other important information that members of the squad will need to follow in order to participate in cheer activities. At this time it will also be beneficial to discuss exactly what will be happening during the year. Include a tentative list of things like games, parades, competitions, and fundraising events so that members and their guardians know what to expect during the upcoming year.
• Deal with Problems Immediately: If a situation arises in which a member of the team violates a rule or regulation be sure to address the situation immediately. Letting problems go unaddressed can send the wrong message to team members and may cause additional problems when you try to address them later on.
• Create a Clear and Concise System of Punishment: At times it may be necessary to punish team members for inappropriate behavior or excessive absenteeism. When explaining the rules to your team members inform them of what actions will be taken if they do not follow the them. For example, if a member of the team misses “X” amount of practices they will have to sit out “X” amount of games. Be sure that each team member has a copy of this information so they know what the consequences will be before they even break the rules.
• Create a Reward System: Everyone, regardless of age, gender, or interests enjoys being rewarded for a job well done. Reward members of your team who have perfect attendance or go above and beyond their call of duty. It can be as simple as a gift certificate to a local restaurant for members who attended every practice. If you put a reward system in place, be sure to be fair about it and give all members of the team the opportunity to benefit.
• Be Consistent and Fair with Punishments and Rewards: It’s important to maintain uniformity when disciplining and rewarding team members. When you are not consistent or make exceptions to the rule on a daily basis, you run the risk of team members seeing you as playing favorites or singling out members.
• Set an Example: > As the coach you it’s important to set a good example. Members of your team will see you as a role model, therefore you need to follow your own rules. This means, being on time for practice, always being prepared, and acting appropriately during games and practices.

A Mother’s Day Poem

(Emily really can put out what she feels in a love poem, even at age twelve. I hope you see this in time for your next Mother’s Day because it is probably how your child feels about you, whether spoken, written or acted.)

(More telling than the exact words are the eyes of the daughter as she watches her father read the personally prepared poem.
I feel that all children can write down their feelings. Some may not be able to put in poem format, but I see them as poems anyway as they are from the heart. This may be the best way for them to express themselves.

When you see some spare time for your child coming up, why not give some space, and provide pencil and paper. Ask your child to write about how he or she feels about birds, or snow, or the blue sky, or you, or whatever. My guess is that you will be surprised!

A Cooked Meal: Carrying for a baby means having very little time to care for your self and that includes making dinner. New mom’s rarely have time to prepare a wholesome cooked meal and even if they do they are often to fatigued to do so. Treat mom, and dad for that matter, to a cooked meal. If you are crafty in the kitchen you can prepare a meal for the new parents and let them enjoy it together. If your not so kitchen inclined consider buying them a gift certificate to one of their favorite restaurant. Look for a restaurant that offers take out as well as eat in. This will give them the option to spend a quiet night at home or have a intimate night out together.

Offer Your Assistance: Sometime the best gift can be a little help from a friend. We often take for granted the ability to just get up and run to the super market or stop by the post office. With a new baby in the house common errands can turn into major tasks. Ask the new mom if you can assist her by going grocery shopping or picking up her dry cleaning. You’ll be surprised how much this means to her.

Winter vacations always offer a great time for the whole family and are even perfect if you are planning on going solo on the trip. Just make sure that you plan properly beforehand so that you have everything taken care of and can really make the most of your time there.

• Get Active: The winter blues can take their toll on your physical and emotional well being. Often times, as the winter progresses you may find that you are less and less active. Being less active will not only add on some unwanted winter weight but it will also work to deepen your depression. Make it a point to be active at least three or four days a week. Even a half hour of running or cycling can help you improve your mood.
• Buy a Plant: Looking out the window on a winter day can be a pretty depressing sight. Depending on where you live you may see tons of old snow that has turned black and brown and lifeless trees. You may not be able to change the outdoors but you can bring some life into your home, office, or apartment with a plant. For the ultimate boost choose one that lacks flowers so you can maximize the amount of oxygen in the room.
