Everyone knows that games are the highlight of the party. Most of the children go to parties because of the fun-filled games and prizes. Without games the children’s party probably wont have life.

Games in parties are usually free. You don’t have to spend some money for this kind of entertainment. That is because games don’t have to be expensive or fancy, they are merely for fun and amusement.

Barn Buddies

You whisper a name of one farm animal to each child. Make sure you also tell the same animal once to another child. Let each child know that there is another person that is similar to the farm animal given to him or her to act like. Throughout this party the children should ask to one another yes and no questions. They should eventually figure out who is the same animal as him or her.

After the party, let everyone sit down beside who they think is their “Barn Buddy”. If they got the wrong “Barn Buddy” review the clues with the children. As soon as everyone figures out the right buddy, let them sit again beside their “Farm Buddies”.

Fruit Basket

Form a circle with chairs. The chairs should be one less than the number of players. The person standing says,”I’m grateful for… (a characteristic, outfit or state of a person)” and every child with that characteristic stands up and scurries for another chair to sit on. While the children are searching for another chair, someone takes one chair away.

One child will have no chair to sit on and will have to be out of the game. The last person to be able to sit down will again say,” I’m gratefull for…” And this will be repeated until you wish to end the game.

Tug Of Water

This game can only be done if you have a sprinkler. Set on the srinkler in your yard or lawn. Divide the children into two groups. Each group should hold on an end of a garden hose. As soon as a non-player says, “Go!” each group starts to pull on the rope with the objective of leading or pulling the opposing team into the srinkler. Of course, the team that gets wet loses and the team that stays dry wins.

Freeze!

When the music starts playing the children starts dancing and moving to the beat. They dance until the music is stopped then they should freeze even though they are in a difficult position. Whoever is caught moving is out of the game.

By using a free business plan template you can prepare the plan yourself and save your new company a lot of money. Although you can certainly hire a professional to prepare a business plan for your new business, consider this less expensive alternative.

One of the most intimidating aspects of starting any new business is developing a business plan.

A business plan is necessary for many reasons including management and finding the funding you need to get your venture off the ground.

There are many different free sample business plan templates online. It’s important to search for one that is reflective of the business you are starting. Obviously if you are launching a new craft business, a business plan template for a daycare business just wouldn’t work. You need a template that will work for you particular business focus.

If you are using a computer that runs on the Microsoft interface you’ll want a business plan template download that works in either MS Word or Excel. Excel can be somewhat tricky for someone unfamiliar with the program. However, it’s often the suggested program for spreadsheets so it’s very likely that you’ll have to adopt it at some point.

Once you’ve downloaded the template you’ll need to take a few moments to acquaint yourself with it. Although every program is different, you would do well to have all the business’s information close at hand so you aren’t wasting time searching for the relevant facts and figures.

There are several different parts to a standard plan that you’ll need to prepare. All of this can be done with the aid of a sample template. The parts are typically a strategy and marketing plan, profit and loss account, a balance sheet, a cash flow statement, cash balance graph, and operating ratios. An executive summary is probably the most important part. This may seem impossible to someone who has never prepared a business plan in the past, but the software walks you through each and every document.

Most programs will allow you to make adjustments as necessary. It’s a very good idea to start using the template soon after you decide to start the business as it allows you the chance to not only have ample time to prepare it, but also to get a feel for the program itself. Obviously as your business ideas change, that it will be reflected in the program.

Once you have completed the business plan it’s now ready to present to potential investors. It’s a good idea to have a trusted friend or relative who is savvy in business have a look over it first. This way they’ll be able to point out any inconsistencies or problems they see. Remember that any business plan can be adjusted and should be adjusted as the business grows and changes.

Being a cheerleading coach can be a very rewarding way to stay involved in a sport you love. However, sometimes coaching a large group of adolescent girls can take it’s toll on even the most tolerant and patient individuals. A good way to keep your team on the right track is to have a set of rules to guide your actions as a team. By taking time to decide how you will address things like rules, rewards, and disciplinary actions you can create a healthy environment for your cheerleaders to grow and bond together. Consider using the following suggests to help make each season a spectacular one.

Start Out on the Right Foot: Before your first practice, plan a meeting for cheerleaders and their guardians. During this meeting hand out a typed list of rules and other important information that members of the squad will need to follow in order to participate in cheer activities. At this time it will also be beneficial to discuss exactly what will be happening during the year. Include a tentative list of things like games, parades, competitions, and fundraising events so that members and their guardians know what to expect during the upcoming year.

Deal with Problems Immediately: If a situation arises in which a member of the team violates a rule or regulation be sure to address the situation immediately. Letting problems go unaddressed can send the wrong message to team members and may cause additional problems when you try to address them later on.

Create a Clear and Concise System of Punishment: At times it may be necessary to punish team members for inappropriate behavior or excessive absenteeism. When explaining the rules to your team members inform them of what actions will be taken if they do not follow the them. For example, if a member of the team misses “X” amount of practices they will have to sit out “X” amount of games. Be sure that each team member has a copy of this information so they know what the consequences will be before they even break the rules.

Create a Reward System: Everyone, regardless of age, gender, or interests enjoys being rewarded for a job well done. Reward members of your team who have perfect attendance or go above and beyond their call of duty. It can be as simple as a gift certificate to a local restaurant for members who attended every practice. If you put a reward system in place, be sure to be fair about it and give all members of the team the opportunity to benefit.

Be Consistent and Fair with Punishments and Rewards: It’s important to maintain uniformity when disciplining and rewarding team members. When you are not consistent or make exceptions to the rule on a daily basis, you run the risk of team members seeing you as playing favorites or singling out members.

Set an Example: > As the coach you it’s important to set a good example. Members of your team will see you as a role model, therefore you need to follow your own rules. This means, being on time for practice, always being prepared, and acting appropriately during games and practices.

Here is a compilation of three short love poems written by twelve-year-old Emily. The first is a short poem about how Emily loves her teachers. During the school year, her literature class was given an assignment to write a letter to a departing teacher. Emily asked if she could write a poem instead and was given permission.

The second poem was written for a hand made card that Emily made for her mother for Mother’s Day. Similarly, the third was written for a hand made card for her father for Father’s Day.
The Last Day
by: Emily

The saddest thing
It’s hard to say
Is seeing you on
Your last day.

I take it for granted,
Though I see you a lot,
Just how much you do
And your kind thought.

You helped me understand
Things I couldn’t before.
I can’t bear to watch you
Walk out of that door.

Though I’ll miss you,
I know indeed
You’ll do great out there
Planting new seeds.

“What seeds”, you are asking
“Why can’t I see?”
But you have already
Planted one in me.

It will grow and grow,
As I learn more and more.
Each day I’ll remember
What you taught me before.

I’m happy for you
To plant more seeds.
I know they will grow
Without any weeds.

There won’t be weeds.
Yes, of that I am sure.
For you have touched them.
Now they are pure.

The saddest thing,
It’s hard to say,
Is seeing you on
Your last day.

A Mother’s Day Poem
by: Emily

Mom, I love you.
That is true.
All the way
To infinity, too.

Now that I’m older
And wiser, too,
I realize just
How much you do.

Most of the time
I don’t look to see
How many things
You do for me.

For this I am sorry.
Next time I’ll try.
You are wonderful,
And I’m glad you’re mine.

(Emily really can put out what she feels in a love poem, even at age twelve. I hope you see this in time for your next Mother’s Day because it is probably how your child feels about you, whether spoken, written or acted.)

A Father’s Day Poem
By: Emily

This is for you,
Dear Daddy of mine
To let you know
I think you’re devine.

A bunch of years
Have flown by real fast
But do not worry,
I’ll always keep our past.

It’ll travel with me
Wherever I go.
I’ll remember the times we’ve had
So long ago.

Please don’t be sad,
Dear Daddy of mine
For there are more to come,
You will find.

I’ll always remember
Those things we did
Like snowmobiling
(When Mommy was hid).

Riding our bikes,
Hitting golf balls,
Getting up on skis,
Without a fall.

Driving the golf cart,
Nicktoons Racing,
Jumping on the trampoline,
And later your back aching.

No matter where we go
Or what we do,
In my heart always
There’s a place for you.

I hope this card helped
You to see
Just how much
I love you, Daddy!

(More telling than the exact words are the eyes of the daughter as she watches her father read the personally prepared poem.
I feel that all children can write down their feelings. Some may not be able to put in poem format, but I see them as poems anyway as they are from the heart. This may be the best way for them to express themselves.

When you see some spare time for your child coming up, why not give some space, and provide pencil and paper. Ask your child to write about how he or she feels about birds, or snow, or the blue sky, or you, or whatever. My guess is that you will be surprised!

Nothing is more natural or more beautiful than a new mother. New moms act as proof of the miracle of life and of the human body. While the miracle of life is beautiful it’s also pretty strenuous making new mothers the perfect recipient for thoughtful gifts. Surprise the new mom in your life with one of these terrific gifts that she’s sure to appreciate.

Healthy Gourmet Gift Basket: As a new mom it’s important to stay healthy and one way to do that is to eat properly. Skip the boxes of high fat, high sugar goodies and treat mom to a healthy alternative like a basket filled with fruits and cheeses. These things not only taste great but they are terrific snacks for the new mom. Both will fill her with the nutrients and vitamins she needs to keep her self and the new baby healthy and happy.

A Clean House: The new mommy is definitely gonna be busy in the weeks and months following the birth of her little one. Sometimes simple tasks like running the vacuum or mopping the floor can turn into challenges when a new born in thrown into the mix. Help mom keep her house clean by offering to give it a good one over. Not a cleaner? Consider paying for a maid for a few weeks or month to help her keep things tidy and give her some well deserved time off.

Day of Pampering: What can better sooth the aching muscles and emotionally drained new mother than a visit to the spa. Whether it’s a 45 minute massage or a 4 hour stay, a new mom will definitely appreciate a chance to relax and be pampered by professionals. If it’s possible offer to baby sit for the day while she receives her well earned princess treatment.

A Cooked Meal: Carrying for a baby means having very little time to care for your self and that includes making dinner. New mom’s rarely have time to prepare a wholesome cooked meal and even if they do they are often to fatigued to do so. Treat mom, and dad for that matter, to a cooked meal. If you are crafty in the kitchen you can prepare a meal for the new parents and let them enjoy it together. If your not so kitchen inclined consider buying them a gift certificate to one of their favorite restaurant. Look for a restaurant that offers take out as well as eat in. This will give them the option to spend a quiet night at home or have a intimate night out together.

Offer Your Assistance: Sometime the best gift can be a little help from a friend. We often take for granted the ability to just get up and run to the super market or stop by the post office. With a new baby in the house common errands can turn into major tasks. Ask the new mom if you can assist her by going grocery shopping or picking up her dry cleaning. You’ll be surprised how much this means to her.

Now, I can’t find any real references to that on the Internet so it’s probably just a big urban myth, but I think most people would agree that an awful lot of New Year’s resolutions get sidetracked within a short period of time.

Think about your vision for the next year as you read this story.

A Native American elder was teaching his grandchildren about life. “A fight is going on inside me. It is a terrible fight between two wolves.

“One wolf represents fear, anger, sorrow, regret, greed, self-pity, and guilt.

“The other wolf stands for joy, love, hope, empathy, generosity, and compassion.

“This same fight is going on inside you, and inside every other person, too.”

The grandchildren thought about that for awhile.

One of them asked, “Which wolf will win?”

The elder responded, “The one you feed.”

I don’t know anyone who doesn’t want more for themselves and others. And, sometimes we get sidetracked by feeding another wolf. This is your chance to make a difference. You can be part of the group that breaks their New Year’s resolutions before January 17 or you can resolve to make 2008 a year that’s great. Which wolf will you feed?

Here are three coaching questions for you to ponder.

What will make 2008 a year that’s great?

What are three action steps you can take in the next month to begin to make that happen?

Who can hold you accountable to these action steps?

May 2008 be a year filled with joy and prosperity for us all. May all the desires of your heart and soul be fulfilled.

For some families there is nothing better than good old winter family vacations. There are some really fabulous places to travel to if you like winter family vacations and want to get out there in the snow and get active, or maybe just lounge around in a luxurious chalet.

If you are interested in planning and making the most of your winter family vacations but you are not sure where to start, then know that there are a few basic steps you can follow which will help you through the entire planning process of your trip.

Where to go

One of the very first things you are going to have to determine is where you want to go for your winter family vacations. Aspen, Austria, the Rockies, Montana, there are some really great choices, areas that are beautiful and breathtaking and perfect for a family winter vacation.

Where to Stay

The next thing you have to do is find a place to stay. There are many different types of accommodations that you can choose from including lodges, chalets, resorts, and even condos that offer a kitchen and living room. It all really depends on how many people you are traveling with, what your interests are, and what you are looking to do during your time there.

If you want to spend a day on the slopes and then come home and cook your own dinner, then a condo is going to be your best option because it is the most similar to a regular house and offers the amenities that you are going to be looking for here. If you would rather the option of ordering room service then a hotel may be more your style.

What to do

Of course one of the most important things for all winter family vacations is deciding what it is that you are going to do. If you have younger children coming on the winter family vacations then you are going to have to include them in activities, whereas if it is just you and a partner you can go skiing on treacherous slopes, go dining and dancing for the night, or just relax in a hot tub overlooking the beautiful snow-lined landscape.

Winter vacations always offer a great time for the whole family and are even perfect if you are planning on going solo on the trip. Just make sure that you plan properly beforehand so that you have everything taken care of and can really make the most of your time there.

When it comes to wearing fashionable clothes in winter, most of the women would agree that they don’t find winter clothes appealing and hip in terms of fashion. The fact here is that it is all about the planning how you put together the entire outfit that counts.

Every women will definitely have a question that whether woolen coats are in fashion this season or not. Let me tell all those beautiful ladies that wool coats are very much in fashion this winter. The only thing is that you have to be conscious about what style to select and what would suit your personality. Lots will depend on both these things as they will help you look fashionable and stylish. You should know how to get maximum style from your existing winter wardrobe and how to combine them with a woolen coat to look great this season.

We all know that as winter comes to its real shade, temperature begins to go down; most ladies try and wear a mixture of practical looking and fashionable clothes all season. The chilly nature of winter season makes it even more challenging for them to look chic and prevent from wintry weather at the same time. It is often seen that it takes long hours of gazing in shops to find the appropriate match of clothes that does not look plain and old-fashioned. As per expert’s advice, internet is the best place to search for; other than the shopping precinct near your home. Internet is full of great new styles of winter clothes and that’s why it has become the most visited place to buy fashionable winter clothes.

To keep yourself warm and at the same time make yourself look hot this winter, we would advise you to select some clothes that are trendy and practical and since, woolen coats are in, they should match nicely with woolen coats. This match of clothes will make sure that you are fully prepared to face winter and yet look womanly by your dressing style. You can add scarves or a wool cap if you want to showcase a dressier look. Stylish and designer woolen socks are also very much in fashion this winter season. If you can add a shawl or a wrap, it will surely give an extra effect to the overall appearance of your personality. For buying a woolen coat in winter always see that it is at least of knee length as this is the happening fashion trend for this season. If you are comfortable in carrying something longer that this length, you can go for it as that will be more helpful in facing those icy winds that blow in entire season of winter.

Clothing in layers during winter season is the most effective way to use woolen coats that are going to be the hottest winter outfit this season. These woolen coats will make you feel warmer and comfortable and also very stylish and fashionable. The bottom-line here is that if you can carry these winter outfits properly and plan them wisely, you can give your winter dressing a very modern and trendy look.

It’s the new year and with that comes a few more months of winter. While the cold weather and snow covered ground may have been pretty in December, by the end of January it starts to wear on you. It seems that the weeks leading up to spring are not only frigid but they are down right depressing. Because of the cold weather, lack of light, and the dreary surroundings many of us face a bout of seasonal depression. Beat the winter blues and help fight your winter worries with these terrific tips.

Light Up Your Day: It is believed that one of the biggest causes of Seasonal Depression is the decrease in serotonin caused by a lack of sunlight. Long hours spent at work under fluorescent lights are often met with early darkness which means a larger majority of people who work nine to five rarely see the sun. Combating this can be as simple as taking a walk during your lunch or replacing your home lights with halogen lights. Both of these solutions will boost your mood by subjecting you to light. When you get home from work try to turn on a few lights and refrain from sitting in dimly lit or dark rooms.

Day Dream: Is the cold weather bringing you down? Sometimes the one thing you want (sunny days) I the last thing you can get, but that doesn’t mean there is no hope. Throw away everything you’re parents told you about day dreaming and let your mind escape for a few minutes each day. When you’re having a particularly bad day, close your eyes and imagine your self in your favorite summer setting. Feel the sun on your body and the light that floods your mind. Let yourself enjoy your brief moment away from reality to really get your mind off the less than desirable winter weather.

Go Bright: Winter colors have a tendency to be drab and muted leaving your wardrobe representing your lack of enthusiasm. Whenever you’re feeling a little blue consider adding some bright hue’s to “brighten” your mood. Colors can have a positive or negative effect on your mood so take advantage of vibrant colors like reds and oranges to really bust those winter blues.

Get Active: The winter blues can take their toll on your physical and emotional well being. Often times, as the winter progresses you may find that you are less and less active. Being less active will not only add on some unwanted winter weight but it will also work to deepen your depression. Make it a point to be active at least three or four days a week. Even a half hour of running or cycling can help you improve your mood.

Buy a Plant: Looking out the window on a winter day can be a pretty depressing sight. Depending on where you live you may see tons of old snow that has turned black and brown and lifeless trees. You may not be able to change the outdoors but you can bring some life into your home, office, or apartment with a plant. For the ultimate boost choose one that lacks flowers so you can maximize the amount of oxygen in the room.
